Hello everyone! For the past two days, I have been in Pokhara, famous for the Himalayan range looking over the city. When I tell you it's overwhelming, it is overwhelming. This beautiful mountain range can easily be mistaken for white clouds high in the sky! Today, we spent the day going around different parts of Begnas lake. This lake is the third biggest lake in Nepal, and to me, it seemed like an ocean. It is impossible to see the whole lake from one point, so we went to 3-4 different outlooks to see the lake. There is no beauty like Nepal anywhere in this world. During our sightseeing, Krishna sir and I visited many families that live on the hillside. These are small villages that are far away from the rest of the city, and because of that resources are scarce. We visited these families because Krishna sir and a few of his supporters abroad have been sponsoring these children in need with their education.
I have realized that there are students being supported not only in Ekta Academy but also in these villages. These families have absolutely nothing and definitely not enough money to send their kids to school. Some do not have any land of their own at all and are trying to support their own children as well as their parents. That is why their children's education is almost the only way these families can get out of this situation. In addition to supporting students in need, Krishna sir has started a project called Action for Peace where he has 4-5 greenhouses being built in different parts of Pokhara. These greenhouses will provide organic fruits and vegetables to families without food, but also it will help sponsor more students to go to school. This is an umbrella project that supports the villages overall through food and education. I connected to this name so much because peace, reconciliation, and healing never happen without any action. Someone has to move, and someone has to act. What is amazing about this project is that it benefits the whole and not one individual person! I could write more about this, but it would definitely go on and on. Thank you for reading!
